News Letter

The calendar says Spring but the weather does not seem to know it yet! This time of year, the Garden is not very pretty but soon little plants will pop through the soil.
Our annual Spring clean up day is Sat. April 26, (Rain date Sun. the 27th) – it would be great if you could join us. We provide all the necessary tools and even refreshments. Meet us at the shed at 9:00.
Once things are cleaned up, we walk around the gardens and decide what flowers to plant this year to make the gardens look even better. Some change is always good. This years Spring Planting Day is Saturday May 24th at 9AM.
Each year we need to raise funds to buy flowers, shrubs, tools and supplies for the Garden. Our lovely packets of notecards are still available for purchase. Each packet of 4 notecards has a beautiful picture of the Garden on them.

I hope that you have seen Our Legacy Sculpture that was unveiled in October. It is to the left of the kiosk when you enter from our parking lot. It represents the 3 original flowers grown at the Dominion Seed House – the Lily, the Peony and the Iris.

We are excited to announce the return of Music in the Garden again this summer. Last year was a great success, with so many of our community friends enjoying the variety of music played every other Sunday from June until Sept. The time has been changed to 3:00 to 5:00 as requested by many of you. The concerts are free and an announcement of dates will follow. Remember to bring your lawn chair and umbrella to protect you from the sun. All the concerts are weather permitting.
Hey kids, “Cat”, our rock caterpillar is back again this year. Bring your painted rocks to make our caterpillar grow. Cat is along the pathway to the left of the kiosk heading toward the shed.
We are always in need of volunteers at the Garden. No need for gardening experience. We will provide the tools and help you learn about gardening. The only requirement is that you have to like playing in the dirt! We meet at the shed at the Garden on Tuesday mornings at 9:00 until noon. Volunteering is a great way to help in your community, enjoy the fresh air, get exercise, meet new friends and learn about gardening.
Looking Forward to seeing you at the Gardens.
